Renovation of buildings affected by groundwater in south-east Germany
The renaturalisation of the lignite surface mining pits in south-east Germany, combined with the rise of groundwater levels and a temporary increase in the amounts of precipitation related to climate change has changed the situation for many buildings. The cellars of buildings become wet and unsuitable for use.
LMBV mbH (Lausitzer und Mitteldeutsche Bergwerksverwaltungsgesellschaft mbH Mitteldeutschland) plays an important role when it comes to resolving the consequences of this development.
The socially relevant purpose for LMBV mbH is to redress the so-called delayed effects of mining activities. The related tasks are manifold; they comprise, among other things, the planning, tendering, awarding and construction supervision of the buildings to be renovated.
The awarding of contracts in public tender processes and individual agreements made with house owners are the basis for the successful renovation of these buildings.
For some years, HTR-Bau GmbH has assumed the role of a contractor in these construction projects. During these years, we were able to acquire a wealth of experience in implementing the most various construction projects. As we were responsible for the construction execution, using trained, longstanding employees and cooperating with experienced specialist companies, we were able to “drain” many buildings in the south-eastern part of Germany.
We know from our long years of experience that there is no patented formula for the renovation of affected buildings. The right renovation method is often a combination of various measures.
